One Day Retreat with Jason Quinn, JDSPN: January 10th, 2026.

Please consider joining us at Bo Hyun Sa Temple in Southwest Ranches for this wonderful practice opportunity. The schedule consists of Zen practice (bowing, chanting, sitting, and walking), work and rest periods, and a vegetarian meal eaten in traditional temple style. It also includes virtual kong-an teaching interviews with Jason Quinn, JDPSN.

Prior meditation experience or attendance at our free newcomer orientation/meditation instruction class (offered three times weekly on Tuesday nights, Wednesday nights, and Saturday mornings) is recommended but not required.

Jason grew up in California and began practicing Zen in 1997 with the Kwan Um School of Zen in Seattle. He resided at the Providence Zen Center for ten years where he held various staff positions, including Abbot. He trained as a monk for nine years, during which he sat many long summer and winter Kyol Che retreats, and participated in retreats around the world. Jason is a published author and since 2001 has worked with hundreds of people helping them to strengthen their Zen practice and create a path for a more clear and compassionate life. Jason studied under Zen Master Dae Kwang for 16 years and received inka (authorized to lead retreats and give koan interviews) in 2015. He is a teacher and Vice Abbot at the Empty Gate Zen Center in Berkeley, CA, and also a teacher for the Kwan Um School of Zen Online Sangha. He now lives in Santa Clara, CA with his wife, son, and daughter. 

The retreat begins at 7:00 am and ends at 4:30 pm. Lunch will be provided.
