One Day Retreat with Knud Rosenmayr JDPSN: Saturday, November 14

Please consider joining us at Bo Hyun Sa Temple in Southwest Ranches for this wonderful practice opportunity. The schedule consists of Zen practice (bowing, chanting, sitting, and walking), work and rest periods, and a vegetarian meal eaten in traditional temple style. It also includes virtual kong-an teaching interviews with Knud Rosenmayr, JDPSN.

Prior meditation experience or attendance at our free newcomer orientation/meditation instruction class (offered three times weekly on Tuesday nights, Wednesday nights, and Saturday mornings) is recommended but not required.

Knud Rosenmayr was born in Vienna in 1974. At the age of 20, he traveled extensively in Asia and had his first experiences with Zen meditation in Korea. In 1995, he met Zen Master Seung Sahn and began to deepen his meditation practice at the Kwan Um Zen School.

In Europe, he also practiced other Zen traditions and in 1999 became group leader of the Vienna Kwan Um Zen School. From 2013 to 2016, he was abbot of the Zen Center in Vienna (Poep Um Soen Won) and since 2014 has supported the organization of the European Kwan Um Zen School in various capacities.

Knud Rosenmayr JDPSN received Inka from Zen Master Ji Kwang in Wu Bong Sa, Poland, in March 2016. He teaches regularly on Kwan Um Zen Online and is the head teacher of the Vienna Zen Center. He is married and has worked at a language school
since completing his philosophy studies.
